This vintage Kemper Chaos 153 freestyle snowboard is from the late 1980s with its bindings fully intact including a leash. A true piece of snowboarding history! Perfect for the collector who loves one of snowboarding’s earliest brands.

Kemper Snowboards, started by David Kemper out of Canada quickly became a major brand with a stacked team in the late 1980s, competing directly with Burton, Sims, and Barfoot. Using neon colorways in all their boards and outwear, their funky designs stood out and made a statement. By 1994, the company was sold to an in-line skate business which quickly pushed Kemper Snowboards into extinction. After a 25-year hiatus, Jib Hunt brought Kemper back, this time out of Park City, UT. Snowboards are being made again in funky retro colorways, creative shapes, and technologies, shaking things up in the industry.

Utah Ski Gear Condition Rating System

New | Like New | Very Good | Good | Fair | Poor

Top-sheet: Good. Has some scratches and edge nicks

Base: Fair. Has lots of light scratches throughout the entirety of the base

Edges: Rusty, but we’ve cleaned them up quite a bit!

Binding: Poor. Missing toe straps

*Please note: We do not recommend riding this board. Would be great as a display piece!

Disclaimer of Warranties:

For previously owned and used skis and bindings:

  • Equipment is sold “as is”
  • The buyer assumes all risk as to the quality and performance of the equipment

Special Safety Notice for Bindings: We urge you to take your boots and bindings to a shop certified by the bindings manufacturer to have a function check. The majority of shops will charge for this service. Even though we may, by request, check to see if a binding should fit your boot sole length, such an adjustment and fit check does not verify that the bindings will release properly with your boot. Only a certified shop can do this, with the user's boots present.
