The Optiwax Glide Tape 2 -5/-20°C Alpine Ski is a premium, specialized frontside tuning product engineered for alpine skiers and snowboarders demanding extreme durability in sub-zero racing conditions. Departing from traditional messy block paraffins that require extensive scraping, this High Fluor (HF) tape allows you to apply an exceptionally hard, dirt-resistant glide layer using a standard waxing iron over a protective paper backing. At a wide 120mm profile, it covers fat freeride skis and snowboards in a single pass. Designed specifically for dry, aggressive cold snow, its unique manufacturing process creates a highly resilient surface that actively repels freezing track water and surface debris, keeping your bases fast for long distances.
High-Fluorocarbon (HF) Formula: Engineered with a high concentration of fluorinated additives to drastically lower surface friction on dry, freezing alpine snow layers.
Extreme Cold Efficiency: Optimized for a hard-packed temperature window of -5/-20°C, offering maximum acceleration when standard universal waxes feel sluggish.
Exceptional Base Longevity: Specially formulated to lock deeply into base structures, lasting significantly longer than traditional rub-on or liquid alternatives.
Skin Ski Treatment Compatible: Can be safely used to coat and treat the integrated skin zones of crossover setups to enhance glide properties while acting as a barrier against icing.
Fume-Free Indoor Application: Because the waxing iron makes direct contact with the paper layer rather than raw blocks, it prevents hazardous smoke development—making it completely safe for indoor bench tuning.
Zero Scraping Mess: Eliminates the static-cling cleanup and massive piles of wax shavings associated with traditional hot-wax scraping protocols.
PLEASE READ BEFORE PURCHASING & APPLYING:
This product contains High-Fluorocarbon (HF) chemical additives. While HF waxes offer elite acceleration and water-repelling traits in dry, sub-zero conditions, they are subject to strict regulatory frameworks. Most major brands have moved to more eco-friendly, less hazardous wax materials.
Competition Bans: Fluorinated waxes are strictly banned by the FIS (International Ski Federation), IBU (International Biathlon Union), and various national governing bodies for sanctioned race events. Do not use this product if you are competing in regulated events utilizing fluor-detection testing.
Environmental & Safety Notice: Ensure used paper tape backing and brushing dust are disposed of responsibly in standard waste receptacles. When brushing out the wax structure, working in a well-ventilated area or wearing a particle dust mask is highly recommended.
