Use Swix Base Prep Wax BP88 on your skis for a smoothly prepped base that is ready to accept faster glide waxes. This all around hydrocarbon HC wax can be ironed onto new skis or used to seal skis during summer storage. This wax contains a hard additive in addition to the hydrocarbon. While the HC wax penetrates deeply into the base, the harder additive rises to the top of the base pulling with it any unwanted p-tex fibers that can then be scraped off with a plastic wax scraper. What you are left with is a nicely prepped ski base.
