Used K2 Skis
High-Voltage Hybrid: The All-Mountain Telemark Powerhouse
The K2 Work Stinx is a legendary "crossover" ski, engineered during an era when K2 dominated the free-heel scene by blending high-performance alpine construction with telemark-specific tuning. At 174cm, this 2006-model powerhouse features a robust wood core and a weight-optimized build designed to "punch through" crud and maintain a damp, chatter-free ride on firm groomers. Paired with the iconic G3 Targa Bindings, this setup offers a classic, active feel with excellent lateral stiffness, making it the definitive choice for the free-heeler who demands precision in the trees and stability at speed.
Key Features
-
Fir and Aspen Wood Core: A high-energy wood blend that provides the perfect balance of "pop" and dampening, ensuring the ski stays lively through the finish of every turn.
-
Triaxial Braided Construction: K2’s patented fiberglass braiding process that wraps the wood core for increased torsional rigidity without adding unnecessary weight.
-
G3 Targa Telemark Bindings: A industry-standard cable binding known for its reliability and "neutral" to "active" flex, providing a consistent feel for both deep lunges and quick traverses.
-
88mm All-Mountain Waist: A versatile width that provides ample flotation in fresh snow while remaining narrow enough to track accurately on icy or hard-packed slopes.
-
Tip and Tail Holes: Features K2’s signature functional holes for quick attachment of climbing skins or for use in emergency sled construction in backcountry scenarios.
-
MOD Technology: An integrated secondary core that acts as a suspension system, absorbing vibrations and impacts to reduce leg fatigue during long mountain days.
-
Traditional Camber & Sidecut: A time-tested profile that allows for intuitive turn initiation and a reliable edge grip that "arcs into a beautiful turn" regardless of snow quality.
