Whether it's freshly groomed runs, fresh snow, or heavy spring slush, the Stockli Montero AX excels in all terrain and in any condition. The Montero AX maintains the chatter-free stability we expect from Stockli but has an added playfulness, making it the ultimate all-mountain carver.
Its playful character comes from a lightweight, dynamic wooden core and the signature All Mountain Rocker. The new Tip and Tail Flex technology makes the shovel and tail even more flexible, allowing for effortless turn initiation. This ensures you remain in control, even in challenging conditions.
Featuring a slightly wider waist width at 80mm, the Montero AX is more all-mountain oriented while maintaining its 5-star qualities on-piste. This ski is best for someone who spends most of their time ripping beautiful turns on the groomed runs but still wants to push the skis onto more variable terrain for exploration.
- Adaptive Contact Length: The widest point of the shovel is set further forward. With a slight rocker, the more the ski is tilted, the further forward the contact point of the edge with the snow moves. This keeps the ski nimble without sacrificing stability.
- Tail Rocker: A longer rocker at the tail with a flatter radius creates a more playful feel with an enhanced edge grip.
- Flex Torsion Control: An S-shaped notch in the aluminum at the shovel and tail of the ski offers softer flex and torsion at the front and rear. As a result, it is easier to initiate turns and remain in control.
- Light Core and Super Light Core: Lightweight European wood is used in the core to make the ski softer while increasing durability and response.
- Full Edge Contact: The widest points of the ski are set further forward in the tip and back in the tail. This allows the ski to grip quicker and extends the edge contact when engaged.
- Bindings: Salomon Strive 13 (not pictured)
